A few major achievements:

This was a new Ministry created by the Late Prime Minister, Hon. Shri Rajiv Gandhi, being a collection of a few important Departments like Fishing, Food Preservation Policies, Beer and other Beverages, Animal Husbandry, etc., which was carved out of other existing ministries. As it was entirely new, this ministry was a challenging job. Mr. Jagdish Tytler took great pains to push and give it momentum.  He held brain-storming sessions with the help of Mr. Murari IAS, Secretary of the Ministry for Food Processing Industries.  In these sessions, many leading industrialists in the Food Industry, were called and was a great success. Many leading and pioneer guidelines were taken, including grants and incentive schemes were introduced. The newly created Ministry became a big success and is still going strong.
